A Few Popular Cruise Port Terminals and Directions

Port Everglades Parking and Driving Directions

Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport is located less than two miles from Port Everglades. Leave a minimum of 45 minutes for the transfer process to allow for time to claim your luggage at the airport and to fill out forms during check-in at the cruise terminal. A taxi is the most convenient and straight-forward transportation between the airport and the cruise port.

Port Everglades’ primary entrance is from I-595, whose eastern terminus is the port’s entrance road, Eller Drive. I-595 connects with I-95, which runs along the entire east coast of the United States, as well as the Florida Turnpike, Sawgrass Expressway and I-75. The port also can be accessed at the intersection of State Road 84 (east) and US1 or by taking US1 or A1A to the 17th Street Causeway in Fort Lauderdale and turning south on Eisenhower Boulevard.

Cruise terminals 1, 2, and 4 are located at the north end of the port. Cruise terminals 18, 19, 21, 22, 24, 25, 26, and 29 are at the Midport facilities located in the center section of the port. Confirm your terminal assignment before leaving for Port Everglades. This information can be found in your travel documents or obtained directly from the cruise line.

Directional signs with ship names, terminal assignments and arrows are located throughout the port and are updated daily. Read these signs carefully when arriving at Port Everglades because they will guide you to your ship. On busy days, flyers will be distributed at security checkpoints directing passengers to their ship.

At Port Canaveral, we offer secure cruise parking close to your terminal and ship. It’s just part of how easy and stress-free cruising is from Port Canaveral.

New Orleans Port

The Great American Steamboat Company, American Cruiselines, Travel Dynamics International and Blount Small Ship Adventures offer cruises along the coast and the nation’s inland river system.

The Port of New Orleans offers ample, secured parking at its cruise terminals for $20 per day (oversized vehicles are $40 per day). Parking at the terminal is the most convenient option for visitors who want to drive themselves to the terminal. All other parking options require a shuttle ride to and from the cruise terminals.

Directions & Parking

Port of New Orleans cruise parking is $20 a day. It is the only parking available at the site of the cruise terminals. No other parking facilities offer the convenience that is available at the cruise terminals.  Look for the black signs with red borders and Port Logo.

During cruise days, parking companies not affiliated with the Port of New Orleans solicit passengers to park at off-site lots and garages.  All of these parking alternatives are a minimum of four blocks from the terminals without safe sidewalks and require a shuttle to the terminal, none offer the convenience of the cruise terminal’s parking facilities.

The cruise lines handle luggage at the port’s parking facilities to and from the ship.  Therefore, passengers never have to worry about handling their luggage.

The Port’s parking facilities are reserved for cruise passengers only. We have ample parking for cruise passengers and are not affected by other events that generate heavy parking demand, such as Mardi Gras, sporting events and convention center activities.

While other lots may be slightly less expensive than the ports terminal parking, you may incur additional expenses because you will be subject to additional handling of luggage, which ultimately leads to additional tipping, as well as having to pay for a shuttle or taxi to and from the terminal.

General Directions to Erato St. Cruise Terminal and Julia St. Cruise Terminals

Take I-10 east to New Orleans; follow the signs to the N.O. Business District, US90 West, Crescent City Connection to the West Bank.  Take last exit before crossing the Mississippi river, which is the Tchoupitoulas Street/St. Peter Street exit11C; turn right onto Tchoupitoulas Street, take a left onto Henderson Street(at the red light), proceed down Henderson St. past the railroad tracks and floodwall and turn left onto Port of New Orleans Place.  Follow the signs into the appropriate terminal.

Parking for Erato St. Cruise Terminal

Go directly to the Erato Parking Garage entrance. On the first floor of the garage (3rd floor of the terminal building) you will be directed to the offloading area in the middle of the floor. Seacaps will take your checked baggage and deliver them directly to the ship. After parking, you will take Elevators #3, 4 or 5 to the ground level, main entrance to the terminal.  Parking is $20 per day.  Please have your cruise ticket available as you will need to show them to enter the garage. Maximum height is 8′ 4″ (limited space) on 3rd floor and 7′ 6″ on higher floors, and maximum 22 feet in length. Garage is secure, lighted and patrolled.

Parking for Julia St. Cruise Terminal

Once entering Port of New Orleans Place, proceed past the Erato Street Terminal to Julia Street.  There you will be directed to the Julia St Terminal drop-off area where you will be assisted with your luggage by Seacaps. You will then be directed down Julia St. where you will take a right turn onto the Service Roadway into the “Whale Lot.” Parking costs $20 per day.  Before leaving your car make sure that you have both parking tickets accounted for because they will be needed on the way out of the facility. A shuttle is provided back to the terminal if needed.  Parking lot is secured, lighted and patrolled.

Oversized vehicles, RV’s and Buses

Oversized vehicles may use the Poydras St. Parking lot which is adjacent to the Julia St. Cruise Terminal. Utilize the same directions as to Erato/Julia terminals. Oversized vehicles are defined as any vehicle over 22ft in length and/or higher than 8’ 4′.  Offload all luggage at the appropriate terminal (Erato for Carnival and Julia for Norwegian and Royal Caribbean).   After offloading all luggage and passengers, the driver should proceed past the Erato and Julia terminals and turn right into the Poydras St. Parking Lot. There will be a shuttle available to bring you back to Erato St. (You can walk to the Julia Terminal). Parking for oversized vehicles is $40 per day. Please call ahead for space. (504) 528-3318.
